Copy SAP2 Master & Key Figure Data Across Planning Areas

We would to copy data and planning view templates across models.  We created another model as a copy of SAP2, and would like to copy all the data (master data and key figure data) from SAP2 into it, as well as our planning views.

 

  • Is there a quick way to mass load and download data across the two models?  How about the planning view templates?
  • Will we have to load the key figures separately in an import template? One each for demand plan quantity, finance plan qty/profit, sales, marketing, indirect costs, cost per unit, etc.?
  • If there a link of all the sample data files for SAP2 in a zip file?   We only currently have the SAP4 sample data.

SAP2 Planning Area does not activate in IBP 4.0.2

Hi all,

 

we just got a sandbox system (IBP 4.0.2) with the sample planning area SAP2. Since I couldn't see any data in the analytics part, I wanted to assign the visibility filter VIEWALL, but it did not show up. Therefore, I tried to activate SAP2 (even though it was shown as active). This activation ended in an error, saying:

 

E - Calculation ID HGROSSCOST@PERPRODLOCCUST contains three or more different key figures. We recommend dividing the calculation into separate calculations to avoid this situation in future.

 

However, when I check the definition of HGROSSCOST@PERPRODLOCCUST, the calculation contains only two different input key figures:

 

CONSTRAINEDDEMAND@PERPRODLOCCUST * COSTPERUNIT@PERPRODLOC

 

and there is no additional input not used in the calculation.

 

I remember that we had a similar issue in a customer system when upgrading to 4.0.1 (?) and it was solved by adding this very same helper key figure HGROSSCOST to reduce the number of inputs for another key figure.

 

This time I can't find the error that is reported. I assume that I am not the only one with this issue as SAP2 is a template planning area that is delivered with each test and sandbox system and it has not been changed from our side.

 

Any idea is appreciated.

IBP and CUA

Hi,

 

For our SAP systems, we are using CUA to manage our users. Now, there is a project here to use IBP. If I understand correctly, the security of IBP is in its Netweaver Stack. Is there a way to use CUA to maintain users in our IBP instances?

In Supply Planning, we have 2 input KFs namely:

1) SubPeriodNum

2) SubPeriodsOfSupply

 

Can anyone please brief me the usage of thesetwo KFs?

Integrating SAP4 and SAP3 planning area

Hi All,

 

My team is working on creating a single planning area with Demand Supply Inventory and S&OP functionality. So as advised by a SAP team member we started out by

  • Doing an advance copy of SAP4 (Supply) into our planning area PR1.
  • Next step we compared attributes in SAP3 and PR1 and did a merge of missing attributes in PR1 in their corresponding master data. For e.g. attribute CUSTGROUP in S3CUSTOMER(Planning area SAP3) was missing in Master Data PR1CUSTOMER, so we did a merge and copied this attribute into PR1CUSTOMER successfully
  • We activated the master data followed by the planning area PR1


Issue faced - After successfully activating planning area PR1 when we went on to planning levels and tried to create a planning level for e.g. PERPRODCUST we were unable to see CUSTGROUP attribute under PR1CUSTOMER Master Data.


Help required regarding the following points

  • Possible reason and workaround for the above issue
  • How to merge different planning areas SAP3, SAP4 into a single planning area including all their attributes, MDs, key figure

Hello,

Apart IBP SOP product that is widely documented, I am struggling finding power point on Demand, Supply, Control Tower and Hana fundations. What I mean here is documentation to discover features and lok&feel in order to demo the solution. I run a company in Geneva focusin on IBP and APO. Concerning demo system, the hana-market place does not include the SAPJAM element. So I am looking for a public demo system if it exists likewise in the CRM domain.

How to Consider open past sales order in IBP for Supply as a demand

Hi,

 

We are in S&OP 3.0.2.2 (On premise Customer) and implemeting IBP for Supply. As of now we are using standard CONSENSUSDEMAND key figure to pass forecast as an input to Supply Planning engine.

 

Our Customer also wants to consider past open sales order as an demand input to Supply Planning engine.

 

We don't see any standard Key figure for this. Please let me know if this is possible in S&OP 3.0 version, if yes then how?

Data visibility issue

Hello,

 

We are currently evaluating IBP as a potential tool for Demand and Supply Planning.  Upon initial setup (standard package), I noticed that when I log in under SOPADMIN user id (all access rights), I am able to see the data that is contained in the planning area.  When I create another user, JOESMITH for example, with the same all access rights, that user is unable to see the existing data.

 

In both cases, that are no visibiliy filters assigned.  Does anyone know why this would happen ?

Templates HCI-DS : Server not registered

Hi all,

 

In HCI-DS, I am trying to use the template "SOP_MD_ProductMaster" to extract Product MD from ECC to IBP.

In the data flow, when I try to execute the task, it ends with the following error :

 

RFC CallReceive error <Function /BODS/RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN: RFC_ABAP_MESSAGE- Exception condition "SERVER_NOT_REGISTERED"

 

Extracting data from ECC using a simple table or extractor works well.

 

Any ideas what might be the cause of the problem?

Loading of Data sent from HCI to IBP STAG tables to Core Tables

Hi Experts -

 

I'm just curious on what's the next steps after loading the MasterData coming from ECC (for example LocationMaster) to IBP. The Global variables are defined (I guess this is how the post processing triggers stag tables to core tables in IBP) but when I check it in IBP, the data coming from source is loaded already in stag tables, but still not seeing it in core tables. Is there anything I need to do from HCI perspective for that to be loaded in Core tables?

Configure Alerts in Excel Add-in

Hello,

 

We are trying to configure alerts in Excel Add-in and we have a few questions we would like to expound:

 

  • - Preconfigured alerts: We have noticed that every template has its own preconfigured alerts. How do we modify these alerts (colour, key figures, etc.)?

 

  • - New alerts: When we access to Edit View/Alerts and select “Add Alert” we only are able to see one or two preconfigured alerts which are not working and we cannot create new ones. How can we create new alerts in Excel?

 

  • - Alert Dashboard: Even activating the preconfigured alerts we still see a 0 in the number of alerts. Is this correct?

IBP Addin Install Issue

Experts,

 

I am reinstalling the IBP 5.2 add in (executable file IBPEXCELADDON02_0-70000182.exe) after uninstalling the 4.1 add in and then upgrading MS Excel to version 16.0.4229.1029. At the beginning of the install I am getting the following error , "Please install the following required components: MS Excel 2013 or higher".  Is the current add in enabled for Excel 2016?

HCI - Test failed for connection with IBP datastore

Hi all,


In HCI, I have added the only datastore with type "SAP HANA application cloud", which is the IBP tenant of our customer.


When I test the connection with default configuration, I get the following error message :


Test failed for the default configuration 'default' of datastore : 'Customer_Name': [10]: invalid username or password


My HCI user has the following roles:

- Production Operator

- Administrator

- Integration Developer


Any ideas what might be the cause of the problem?

I guess it's a configuration issue in the link between HCI and IBP tenant?

"Inventory On Hand" is not working as expected

Hi Gurus,

 

We are trying to work with Initial Inventory in SAP S&OP. After an unconstrained plan we expect that Constrained Demand Plan Qty will decrease because of the Inventory On Hand. But is not taking it into account. Any clue?

 

We have not loaded any cost data yet.
