Data manipulation of attributes

I have loaded a stored key figure "Order Quantity"  in IBP

Can Time Period "PER" be derived from the Attribute "Created Date".  Data is manually loaded through CSV templates.  Also, is there documentation available on the various functions that can be used within IBP.  The help documentation has information on SUM, MIN, MAX, AVG

Lesson Learned - SAP SOP 3.0.2.2 On-Premise - Must Read

Dear Community,

 

We had Sev 1 issue in our production system after system upgraded last night from 3.0.2.1 and 3.0.2.2...

 

Before upgrade : 

 

Most of master data and Key figure data jobs ran in parallel ( Informatica  ETL and loading data from staging table to core table) and we had old failed jobs in the que (select * from SAP_SFND."sap.sop.sopfnd.catalogue::SOPBG_CRON_JOB_ENTRY"  where CRON_JOB_STATUS = 1

and CRON_JOB_TYPE = 'INTEGRATION') (Successful jobs have CRON_JOB_STATUS = 0)


What changed in this patch


With 3.0.2.2,

 

1)  Data load jobs one by one

 

2) Current Job doesn't start unless previous job is run successfully..Current job stuck in the que with status “OUTSIDE_UPLOAD”.


What needs to be done


1) We had to change stuck job's status to "0"


2) After this fix, que got cleared and all data loads happened correctly.


Ref to OSS note 2136871 ( IBP Note and New parameter - Job_Thread_Count if you want to enable parallel threading and this option is not available in 3.0.2.2, as of now)


Thanks to SAP support team who identified the issue quickly and gave the direction....

how to identify process chain related to integrated planning based on aggregation level or planning function or planning sequence?

Hi,

 

I joined a support project and i would like to know how to identify process chain related to integrated planning based on aggregation level or planning function or planning sequence? Is there any way?

 

We got one incident that copy function failed for one particular target but i didn't get its relavant process chain? though i tried to identify dtp and clicked on process chain it is showing chains below its flow ...

 

Please answer this as it is emergency...

Loading Weekly Forecast Data from APO Demand Planning to S&OP via HCI

Hi all,

I am trying to load forecast data from a planning area in APO Demand Planning (DP) to a planning area in S&OP via HCI. The source planning area has weeks and months as time buckets. I have generated a data source for the planning area in APO DP and use it as source in HCI. Transferring the data on monthly level works fine. Now I have the requirement to transfer the data on weekly level. Here I have a problem where hopefully somebody can help me with.

 

From APO DP I get the time bucket information in the field CALWEEK in the format '<Year><Week>' e.g. '201452'. The planning area staging table on S&OP side uses a datetime field to identify the weekly time bucket as you can see in the screenshot below.

I have not found any HCI function to derive the date from a calendar week. Due to the year dependency there also seems to be no really simple logic to do this conversion. Does anyone have an idea how to reach such a data load on weekly level?

Post upgrade issues & lessons learnt

I am creating this discussion forum thread to document post upgrade issues seen. Also to share fixes and lessons learnt from it.

 

1. S&OP Planning Area activated successfully but Supply Planning run is erroring out "Invalid production source for component xxxx and source ID yyyy: Invalid component key (Error code 6)" "Invalid key figure data for xxxxxxx Invalid component key (Error code 2)" etc.

Unconstrained Supply Planning used to work before upgrade.

2. Activation of SAP5 Planning Area errors out. Set it for deletion and activated so that it gets deleted completely but even then getting error "ERROE: some plan sets are inactive !!" Note there is no master or planning data created for SAP5 before upgrade too.

3. Inventory Planning Area (copy of SAP3) activation has multiple Warning but Error "Exception raised from InternalError: dberror(CallableStatement.execute: 129"

This seems to be a backend HANA issue duplicate key index found for planning area.

4. DELABANDONCOMBOS Planning Operator need to be created with your planning area as parameter. ALL_INCLUSIVE role does not have Delete Abandoned Combinations authorisation selected by default.

5. You cannot copy ALL_INCLUSIVE role unlike any other role, neither can you edit it. So you create new role with all the authorisations assigned to it but then saving the role is giving backend error.

 

Anyone has encountered these or other issues post upgrade this weekend - feel free to contribute.

I'm not able to do that in the role using a visibility filter.

Hi All

 

Is IBP only available in cloud ? I checked SAP market place and found only the excel add-in and HANA DB available to  customers.

 

What setup is needed to connect  excel add-in  in a windows machine  connects to HANA db which is on a SUSE Linux machine . I dont see any installation guide for the same and PAM also shows just the excel addin.

Difference between Optimizer and Profit Optimization

Hello,

 

As far as I understand the difference between them is that Optimizer is minimizing costs and Profit Optimization is minimizing Gross Profit.

 

My question lies on if in Profit Optimization  NonDeliveryCostRate is equal to Total Saleable Price by definition,  then with both methods we should obtain the same results.

 

Optimizer = minimize sum of costs including Nondliverycostrate

Profit Optimizer= minimize profit which is sum of costs including TotalSaleablPrice=NondeliveryCostRate

 

Why is my statement wrong?  Which is the difference between them?

Time Profile Recommendation

I would like to gather your recommendations/experience about time profile horizon.

We are planning to create a new time profile with entries until 2030/12/31, or even further...

Do you see any sizing/performance issue that could raise up from such a time profile configuration?

Hi,

 

In one of our KFs, there is a requirement that the KF should behave in a certain way if First Week of the Year (ie Week 1) is encountered.

Is there any possible ways to make this work?Is there any way for keep track of week?

HCI - Global variables as filter

Hi all,

 

In HCI, what is the best way to set a filter which will be used by many dataflows / tasks ?

 

In the first phase of our project, we will only consider several plants and DC. This list will evolve latter.

 

What we did so far is to create one global variable for each plant and DC :

$G_PLANT_01 = 'plant1'

$G_PLANT_02 = 'plant2'

etc...

$G_DC_01 = 'dc1'

$G_DC_02 = 'dc2'

etc...

We keep some of these variables empty for future phases of the project.


Then, we use these variables in the filter of our data flow :

It works but it's not really "elegant" and flexible.

It also takes a lot of time to replicate the global variables in each task.

 

Any recommendation?

Inter-version Transactional data copy with Copy Operator

Hi,

 

In our project, there has been a requirement to copy a KF data of KF1 from base version to KF2 in CustomVersion. Is it possible to create a copy Operator that can accomplish this task?

 

KF1 and KF2 are key figures available in both the versions.

How to integrate Forecast data from IBP to APO SNP

Hi Gurus!

 

We want to integrate Forecast data from SAP IBP to SAP APO SNP. As far as I know, we should work with HCI, but we are evaluating these two options:

 

1- Integrate directly from IBP to SNP through HCI. ¿It's possible? ¿How will disaggregate to Prod/loc Level?

2- In order to avoid disaggregation issues; Integrate from IBP to DP, and then release the Forecast to SNP through APO standart.

3- Other options?

Cumulative over rolling time period

Hi,

 

There has been a requirement from our client where we have to calculate a cumulative value on a given KF. How can it be made possible via back-end configuration?

 

For example, Say we have 1 KF: KF1@PL and another KF: CUMKF1@PL (This will be holding the Cumulative result of KF1). Now Let

KF1 have the following value over a 4 week period: 100     140     80     90

So CUMKF1 should contain:                                     100     240     320   410

 

Need help in this,

Default Planning Area in Web UI User Settings

Hi ,

 

On setting up default PA in user setting in Web GUI , configuration screens such as PA , KFs are not defaulted to the Planning Area in the user setting. Did not get any information on SAP Help about how does this work.

Version specific Operator execution

Hi,

 

In our case, we are having 2 Versions, Baseline and CustomVersion and two Copy operators.

Objective is that we have to execute Copy Operator when we are working in CustomVersion.

Copy operator involves KF1(input) and KF2(output) which are available in both the versions.

 

So while working in CustomeVersion if we execute CopyOperator, will it have any impact on KF1 and KF2 in Baseline Version?
