Creating a new PA

I want to create a new PA by copying an existing one.

The WebUI allows me two features for this: 1) Simple Copy, 2) Advanced copy

 

 

Can any one please brief me the different fields in advanced copy and their usage? So far I have been using Simple copy only.

Copying data between two different planning areas using HCI

Dear IBPers,

 

I have the following problem: we want to copy data from one planning area (source) to another planning area (target) within the same SAP IBP in-the-cloud system. The two planning area have few differences in planning levels, but SHARE the same master data.

 

As there is no copy operator between two different operator, I am thinking to use HCI to perform this data copy.

 

Does anyone know whether and how it is possible to configure HCI to use IBP at the same time as source and target as well?

 

Any good hint?

Alerts not updated in WEB UI.

Hi Gurus!

 

We create and configure some Alert Key Figures which are working well in Excel Add-in. We can see them in Excel Dashboard when a exception appears. However we can't find any alert in WEB UI Dashboard Icon. We are working with a copy of SAP2 and we have this new Planning Area correctly assigned to our web user. ¿We should customize something more?

Change History is not captured in IBP

Hello All,

 

Planning Area(exact copy of SAP2) is Enabled for Change History.  Planning Area is active as well.  We have done several updates to Keyfigure data - by either entering the values and/or by updating the existing values in keyfigure. However we do not see any Change History captured. Nothing shows up in Change History tab in WebUI.  Tried without any filter or by setting up proper filtering criteria, but change history is not displayed.

 

We are using IBPCONFIG user who has ALL INCLUSIVE role assigned.  We are on IBP 4.0.2.1 - Support Pack 2 Patch 1(Starter Edition).

 

Is anything else required to enable Change History?

 

Kindly share any inputs/experience in this regard.

Hi Experts,

 

This is not exactly a technical question but more of a counselling question.

 

I am SAP APO consultant with 8 years of implementation experience. Now, I want to learn SAP IBP as it seems to be the next hot thing from SAP in the planning space.

 

1. Is there some test/demo system available from SAP where I can play around a bit ? I do not mind even if its a paid service.

 

2. I am employed by a Pharma company and not by a consulting company. The dilemma I am facing is -- even if I go for IBP trainings conducted by SAP then all companies in market seeking IBP consulatnts are looking for experienced professionals. So, its like chicken and egg situation as I need a break in IBP. Any suggestions ?

IBP Data Extract HCI error

Hi All,

  As part of the S&OP project, we need to export the data from IBP.  We are using the steps provided in the document. http://help.sap.com/download/ibp/ibp50_data_export_guide.pdf We can view the data in the Query transform and XML Transform in Design time view . But throws an error in the Target_Web_Service_Call Transform. Below is the Data flow.

KF disaggregation from Product family to Product

Experts,

 

 

One of our customer wants to change sourcing ratios as follows.

 

Current logic - Sourcing Ratio Maintained at @ CUSTID , PRDID and LOCID

 

New Logic : Change Sourcing Ratio to @ CUSTGRP , PRDLINE and LOCID  where CUSTGRP & CUSTID and PRDLINE and PRDID are in Hierarchy.

 

Expectation is system to copy SAME value from @ CUSTGRP , PRDLINE and LOCID  to @ CUSTID , PRDID and LOCID.

 

Reason for asking this change is too much data to maintain at @ CUSTID , PRDID and LOCID.


I tried various options and no success...


Any suggestions are appreciated.

Statistical Forecasting in IBP 5.0

Hi,

 

I have run satatistical forecasting in IBP 4.0

 

However I am finding it challanging in IBP 5.0 . Not sure where to confure it. We have been able to copy SAP_IBP_PLANNER_APP into our roles and the tabs for statistical forecasting and supply planning are visible in the IBP excel ribbon

When we go to statistical forecast it shows us the following window:

We selected the time period as Monthly. Howevr we couldnt get anything in the "Forecast Model" selection pane. It was blank. Then we tried to run it. We got a message stating "Select a profile".

 

We are not sure where and how to select the profile in IBP 5.0.. Request your help.

KFs definition in Inventory Planning

Hi,

 

Need help in understanding what is the flow of input/output KFs between Inventory and Demand planning and between Inventory and Supply Planning.

Particularly want to understand if the consensus demand KF generated in demand planning mapped as the IO forecast KF which is the input in the inventory planning. Also the output KFs such as recommended safety stock, target inventory position etc. go as the inputs to the supply planning?

 

Can someone plz suggest where to find the definitions of the inventory KFs?

HCI Error Executing Upload Task

Hi!

 

To import master data, I have created a task to upload data from a local CSV via HCI into SAP IBP. All my targets, mappings and the data flow into the staging tables validate "OK", but when I run the task from the projects tab I receive the following error:

how to identify process chain related to integrated planning based on aggregation level or planning function or planning sequence?

Hi,

 

I joined a support project and i would like to know how to identify process chain related to integrated planning based on aggregation level or planning function or planning sequence? Is there any way?

 

We got one incident that copy function failed for one particular target but i didn't get its relavant process chain? though i tried to identify dtp and clicked on process chain it is showing chains below its flow ...

 

Please answer this as it is emergency...

Issue with Chart Creation in IBP

In the analytic sections of the IBP, when we create new chart one of the first step is to select the planning area from the drop down list. I noticed that not all the active planning areas in our system are listed out in the drop down

 

e.g. B01 is an active planning area with data and we are able to connect through the excel UI and plan. But that planning area is not getting reflected in the drop-down (see screenshot below)

Planning with different time profile levels

Hi!

 

In our environment we are facing an issue related to different time profile levels being in use in different business units and I am currently not sure how to deal with that in setting up the planning environment...

 

On a corporate HQ level we do plan in

  • weeks,
  • calendar months,
  • quarters and
  • years.

Most of our business areas adhere to the same logic - except one business unit that does planning and reporting in their local system in

  • weeks,
  • "periods" (of 4 weeks each - so 13 in total in the year - not in line with the calendar months),
  • quarters and
  • years.

 

Is it possible to setup the planning environment in a way that the business units can use both time profile levels and still have a consolidation of the planning results possible on the corporate HQ level? Or would you recommend to bring all business units to the same time profile level?

Custom Alerts not working in IBP

We created custom alerts as shown below but are unable to view charts or have them show up in the dashboard on the right? Can you please suggest what needs to be done?  Thank you.

Calculation of dependent demand

Hi,

 

We are able to calculate the Consensus Demand. We are working on a copy of SAP2. Now we are trying to run the supply plan. We are not able to get output for DependentDemand.  Is it that we need to define the calculation of DependentDemand (ConsensusDemand*CRatio) or is it calculated through supply planning engine automatically?

 

Similarly please advice us for DepndentCustomer, Location and Production demands.

HCI – Process and recommendation for scheduling integration jobs

Hi all,

 

Once you have created and tested all your tasks / data flows, what is the recommended approach to schedule them?

 

First, I wanted to group my data flows in the correct execution order within a process and then schedule only this process.

 

For this, I ran several tests:

- I created a process to load simple Master Data (Product, Location, Customer, etc.). It works fine

 

- Then, I created a process to load compound Master Data (ProductLocation, ProductCustomer, etc.). The process seems to work fine but the post-processing in IBP never ends; and data is never loaded. Note that all these data flows work fine individually.

 

- For some Master Data, I need to perform a multi-step integration :

1) Insert / Update IBP Master Data

2) Export this new IBP Master Data into a flat file

If I use a Process to group these 2 data flows, the post processing of the first data flow is not over when the second data flows begins – which means that I don’t extract the correct data.

 

Based on these observations, I think the best option would be to:

1) Group Simple Master Data in a process and schedule it

2) For the other Master Data /Extract to flat file / Key figure, schedule individual tasks one by one

 

If I do so, how can I be sure that a task is over when the following one begins? Do I start a task every 10 minutes, hoping that the previous one has been completely processed?

 

Has anyone encountered the same issue with Process in HCI?

Over Production In IBP

Hi All,

 

I am in Planning View: 30 Capacity.

I run unconstrained planning and the amount of the production in April 2016, May, June is X.After saving the data, production changes to Y in April 2016, May, June across all resources .

 

Please let me know if you have any idea about this issue.

Multi Langauge considerations for IBP

Dear Experts,

 

Could you please share your experiences on using multi languages in IBP.  Working on IBP implementation to support  English, Spanish, German and Chinese  languages.

 

Based on documentation, Looks like Browser and Excel needs to be configured to support respective languages and nothing else is required.  Could you please share your experiences you may have any?

 

My key questions related to description fields as such 1) Product description 2) Customer description 3) KF description...etc... Does system needs to store all difference descriptions in required languages as will have impact on  BW and HCI work.

 

Any insights are appreciated.
